The Tiled Shower Stall Thread

Just ordered the door.

Also ordered a three plane laser and tripod to line it up with. I used to have a good two plane laser, but it has mysteriously vanished. I bet I know who had it last. I'll not mention any names, but his initials are Frank Gaudious.

The door has arrived, as has the 3 beam laser and tripod.

So my daughter and farm boy will come over next weekend so he can help me. The main glass door weighs 100 pounds, so there's no way I'm setting that in the hinge brackets by my onesies.

Also, I've decided to give up on the hill out back. The new neighbors put up a fence and are going to let their lower yard go and I'm not going to fight that battle alone.

So I went to Home Depot and picked up some Chinese Fringe Flower shrubs to make a hedge fence with.

I have them stashed under the deck for now to keep them from drying out.

There's 15 of them, so I'll plant a couple each morning while it's cool outside until they're all planted.

They'll get 5 to 8 feet tall and about as wide, so it should make for a decent natural fence.

Well, here it is. It's still really dirty from all the marble dust from drilling and handprints on the glass from handling it but I have to wait 24 hours for all the caulk to set before I can clean it all up.

Still looking for light fixtures. Will probably start ordering the faucets and towel racks in a couple weeks.

And here is the picture I've been waiting a few months to take:

That is where everything was kept for working on the bathroom; from 600 pounds of marble, to tools, to bags of thinset and grout, parts, you name it.

It's all gone because I'm all done.

Now I have to get that old bookshelf out, hang the TV on its wall mount properly and that will be that.

It's still dusty and needs a good cleaning, bit I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Here's the new bronze faucets and base drains, towel rods and dimmable light fixture installed. Even redid all the receptacles, GFCI and switches:

All in for the entire bathroom project, $5,730.00.

Now the wife wants to refinish the cabinets. Yeah. That can wait.
