The Climate Change Thread

I've done about -84 F (wind chill) during arctic survival. I have to say the warmth keeping ability of a igloo is phenomenal.

When I went to school in Edmonton as a teen -40 windchill was not a show stopper. Then I would move to Halifax and if it threatened -10 they'd cancel school.

Coldest I've ever faced was -20 on Mount McKinley. Thats not wind chill. Not sure what that was. Dumbest thing I ever did.

Coldest it's ever been here was a -10 wind chill years ago.

My wife laughs about it because in Nishny -40 was a typical winter day.

No fireplace. The basement had sunk to 55F. The upstairs was still 60F. The gen runs the oil furnace fine, which also produces hot water with lots of watts to spare. I didn't haul it out for the first 5hrs since restoration was supposed to be an hour later (6hrs total). Now its out til 11pm tonight. I got plenty of fuel.
