The local news was also saying that nearly 100 people in British Columbia had died from heat related causes. We're losing a lot of folks as well in the Pacific Northwest. I think they have around 50 dead in the Portland area alone.

New York has resorted to having buses idle at certain locations running their air conditioning wide open as cooling spots for people.
Got curious and looked it up.

You had nearly 1/8th of the entire planets lighting strikes in less than a day. That's fucking unbelieveable.
And our big oil companies have once again outdone themselves. A leak in a gas pipeline on an ocean rig caught fire and now the ocean is literally on fire.

I read a year or so ago that by the time my son (he's 8) is in his 40's he'll be able to take a tour boat to the north pole during the summer.

While there he will not see a single piece of ice.
