The Climate Change Thread

I am here for it, I tell you!

It dropped to 30 last night. I'm so over the cold weather I can't see straight. Yes, I'll be bitching about blistering heat in a few weeks, but my bones can't take much more of the cold this year.

Have you seen the rock plastic fusion yet that they have a scientific name for?

She returned to the island late last year to collect more specimens and dig deeper into the phenomenon.

Continuing her research, she found similar rock-like plastic formations had previously been reported in places including Hawaii, Britain, Italy and Japan since 2014.

But Trindade island is the remotest place on the planet they have been found so far, she said.

India's largest landfill....April 22, 2024 (I believe)

The landfill covers an area of approximately 70 acres (28 ha) and reaches heights of over 150 feet (46 m).[2] Ghazipur has become one of the largest landfills in the world. The landfill reached its maximum capacity in 2002; however, it continues to receive solid waste from the city of Delhi.[3]

That's not even remotely close to one of the largest landfills on earth. In fact, it pales in comparison to the average landfill here in the states.

The Denver Arapahoe landfill in Colorado is on 2,364 acres but only 1,363 acres are used for dumping. Even with that, it's 20 times larger than Ghazipur.

The landfill in Gwinnett County run by Waste Management sits on 585 acres.

The only thing that makes Ghazipur bad is that it is run by complete idiots.
