The Arrest / No Fly List / Comeuppance Thread

A U.S. Capitol rioter who carried a Trump flag into the well of the Senate has asked a judge to credit his "strength of character" and grant him leniency.

Paul Hodgkins, who took a selfie in the Senate Chamber during the Jan. 6 insurrection, pleaded guilty last month to one count of obstructing an official proceeding, and his attorneys filed a sentencing memo invoking the Civl War and so-called "cancel culture," reported MSNBC's Scott MacFarlane.

"It takes courage and strength of character to be the first person to step forward," the filing read.

Actually, being "THAT" asshole who they let in first to "take the fall" is the STUPIDEST thing he could have done but he hasn't even realized that yet...

:ROFLMAO:

"This Court stands in the shadows of Lincoln and Grant," the filing read. "The rebellion of the south did not deserve the 'grace' that Lincoln and Grant would provide. But the malice and humiliation that many might have sought would not heal the nation as both Lincoln and Grant fully understood."

Absolutely delusional.

That's some fucking balls right there. If I were that judge I would fucking bury his ass for him having the unmitigated gall to suggest he deserves leniency. I'd beat him half to death with the fucking book.

Five members of a Texas family were arrested on Tuesday for entering the U.S. Capitol together during the January 6 insurrection.

Federal investigators pointed to extensive social media posts from many members of the family in order to make the arrests on Tuesday, in one of the largest single-day sweeps of defendants in one Capitol riot case to date.

What an idiot. This little tidbit here:

"I've definitely been annoying and I see the frustration from you and all of the parties," Fellows said. "I wouldn't want to deal with me if I was on the opposing side."

That's going to be what gets him the max sentence. Instead of being a decent "OK, you're right, I'm busted, I'm sorry" person he's going with "my friends all thing I'm the coolest so I'm going to keep riding this psychotic horse into the burning stable" attitude.

Have fun doing 2 years in Federal Prison, moron.

A Florida man who breached the U.S. Senate chamber carrying a Trump campaign flag is scheduled to become the first Jan. 6 rioter sentenced for a felony, in a hearing that will help set a benchmark for punishment in similar cases.

Prosecutors want Paul Allard Hodgkins to serve 18 months behind bars, saying in a recent filing that he, "like each rioter, contributed to the collective threat to democracy" by forcing lawmakers to temporarily abandon their certification of Joe Biden's election victory and to scramble for shelter from incoming mobs.

Video footage shows Hodgkins, 38, wearing a Trump 2020 T-shirt, the flag flung over his shoulder and eye goggles around his neck inside the Senate. He took a selfie with a self-described shaman in a horned helmet and other rioters on the dais behind him.
