The Arrest / No Fly List / Comeuppance Thread

I would say this is simply unbelievable...but it isn't.

I just can't put into words how ridiculous this seems to me. But they do it. That's who they are. Wow. Just wow.

Years ago when I was living in Charleston, South Carolina, they used to have a bit on the local news called "Stupid Criminals". It was hysterical. They would list a stupid criminal and do the full profile on him/her. Some highlights:
  • A bank robber went in to rob a bank in Holly Hill, SC and could have gotten away with it had he not run out of gas before he made it out of the parking lot of the bank.
  • A man walked into a Piggly Wiggly grocery store, stole a bunch of high end beef products and was chased out of the store by staff. After the police had arrived and were filling out the reports with the staff the man returned to try to get a refund on the beef he had just stolen.
  • A North Charleston man who was wanted for bad checks (couldn't believe it wasn't my brother but he had already left the state) was phoned and told he had won super bowl tickets. All he had to do was show up at any North Charleston police station to claim them. He did. He was immediately arrested.
  • A gang of young crooks assaulted an old, crippled lady on Youngs Island in her home to rob her. When she started screaming at them to get out they pushed her in her wheel chair into an old bureau in the front living room. The old lady then opened the top drawer of the bureau that held her diseased husbands Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum revolver and proceeded to, in the words of the Charleston County Sheriff, "blow them to kingdom come".
I miss that. But we'll be going down to my rich friend's place on John's Island in a few weeks so I'll get to see it again. :)

Court records show Tennessean Eric Munchel and his mother have been indicted by a federal grand jury for their alleged participation in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Better known as the “zip tie guy,” Munchel and his mother, Lisa Eisenhart, have been indicted on eight charges each. Those charges include obstruction of Congress, disorderly conduct, and carrying a weapon on Capitol grounds.

Eric Munchel is one of eleven Tennesseans charged in connection with the capitol riot. Seven are from here in Middle Tennessee.

I'm amazed any of them could write.

That's Mr. Boot-knife-mace isn't it?
He's on the news tonight. He's from John's Creek. That's about 9 miles from my house. They showed pictures of his neighborhood. I know exactly where he lives.

Apparently, he went around Northside Forsythe Hospital (where all my cancer surgeries were done) bragging about his part in the assault. A doctor turned him in via the tip line. They then tracked his financial records and it laid a clear path from his house to the capital.
