Feds raid Mar a Lago - All things Trump

The crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) gave the former First Lady a standing ovation as Mr Trump described how “people love her”.

“Oh look at that Mercedes, that’s pretty good” he said as the audience stood and applauded.

The GOP presidential hopeful was making the keynote speech on 24 February on the same day as voters head to the polls in the South Carolina primary.

As I suspected, he doesn't have the money.

He's "offering" a 100 million dollar bond, less than 25%.

I don't see any way a judge accepts that.

The Fani Willis hearing wrapped up today with closing arguments. Judge McAfee will render his decision within the next two weeks.

It could go either way. My take: she needs to go.

Her poor judgement, complete and total lack of morals or ethics and her attitude have put a fog of impropriety over this entire case that we simply can't have. Regardless of how it turns out for Trump, for or against, her absolute bungling of it all gives ample cause for appeal. In fact, you could probably start writing your appeal drafts the INSTANT Judge McAfee lets her stay on if he goes that way.

Yes, it will put the case off until another DA's office can be brought in to take over; but I think that erring on the side of caution is best here. That she couldn't put this case, the single biggest and most important case of her entire life to this point, ahead of her own selfish personal interest, desires and love of money, is deplorable in the extreme.

Democrat Eric Swalwell's examination of Hunter Biden today:

SWALWELL: Any time your father was in government, prior to the Presidency or before, did he ever operate a hotel?

BIDEN: No, he has never operated a hotel.

SWALWELL: So he’s never operated a hotel where foreign nationals spent millions at that hotel while he was in office?

BIDEN: No, he has not.

SWALWELL: Did your father ever employ in the Oval Office any direct family member to also work in the Oval Office?

BIDEN: My father has never employed any direct family members, to my knowledge.

SWALWELL: While your father was President, did anyone in the family receive 41 trademarks from China?

BIDEN: No.

SWALWELL: As President and the leader of the party, has your father ever tried to install as the chairperson of the party a daughter-in-law or anyone else in the family?

BIDEN: No. And I don’t think that anyone in my family would be crazy enough to want to be the chairperson of the DNC.

SWALWELL: Has your father ever in his time as an adult been fined $355 million by any State that he worked in?

BIDEN: No, he has not, thank God.

SWALWELL: Anyone in your family ever strike a multibillion dollar deal with the Saudi Government while your father was in office?

BIDEN: No.

SWALWELL: That’s all I’ve got.

The fact that Trump libeled
@ejeancarroll
on
@CNBC
@SquawkCNBC is highly significant for a procedural reason in addition to a substantive one. Were E. Jean to sue Trump just for the speech he gave in northwest Georgia the other day, she would have had to sue in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. But now that he libeled her on Squawk Box, which is anchored in Manhattan, she may now sue in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. If she does that, the case would be assigned to Judge Lewis A. Kaplan as a case related to the earlier two cases that produced $88.3 million in damages awards.
