Feds raid Mar a Lago - All things Trump

Once you're an attorney of record on a case, it's very difficult to quit. You actually have to have the judges approval to do so.

I think that's why a few of his lawyers quit before the arrest and arraignment. They saw this coming and didn't want any part of it.

So even a court appointed lawyer would have to go to the judge to be dismissed? I gather something like 'my client lies to me' would be enough to get removed if you could prove it?
If so that begs my original question - what happens if he keeps lying to court appointed lawyers and they want to be removed? Does some poor schmuck finally get stuck with him somewhere along the line?

Yes.

No. It wouldn't.

Face reality: just about everybody that ever gets an attorney lies to them. Some lies are bigger than others, to be sure. But it's not an attorney's job to believe his client or even like him. His job is to provide the most rigorous defense he can. Once he accepted that client, especially in Trump's case when everybody knows well in advance that he's a pathological liar, you can't just walk away from it because it turns out you're not the exception that you thought you were.

what happens if he keeps lying to court appointed lawyers and they want to be removed? Does some poor schmuck finally get stuck with him somewhere along the line?
The first guy usually does. It's very, very rare that a judge lets a lawyer walk away from a client. In fact, off the top of my head, I can only think of one instance where that ever happened - it was a murder case years ago in Charleston. The judge allowed the female lawyer to walk away after her client assaulted her and threatened her.

I'm sure it happens a bit for simple reasons like health issues and the like more than it does anything else.

This is interesting:

In a Thursday order, Cannon gave “all attorneys of record and forthcoming attorneys of record” a Friday deadline for getting in touch with the Justice Department’s litigation security group so that they can expedite “the necessary clearance process.” By June 20, she wants the lawyers to file a notice confirming they have complied with her instructions.
The order in and of itself is perfectly normal. But the speed in which she's making them comply is odd. One would think that being a Trump lap dog she would have dragged her feet for weeks on just this order to help Trump out.

She is not. So far.

I think someone put a torch to her feet and told her neutrality or dismissal. From other articles I've read that seems to imply a 'speedy' trial as well. I think they want it over before the end of summer.

Before the election to be sure

Meanwhile, the same attorney that quit this case quit the one against CNN citing irreconcilable differences.

I'm of the opinion that the judge is letting him quit because Trump is trying to get him to lie or do some other illegal things and the attorney isn't having any part of it.

Good for him. If only more lawyers had that level of dedication to their oaths, Trump would literally be on a court appointed attorney, because nobody would willingly represent him.

So this again goes back to my original question above. What happens when he's down to a court appointed attorney who goes to the judge and says "Trump is trying to get him to lie or do some other illegal things"?

If it goes that far, I honestly don't know. It's never gone that far in U.S. history with anybody. And we've dealt with people like Charles Manson and half the Nixon administration.

And here comes the bombshell:

The shit is about to royally hit the fan.
