COVID Thread

We set our new record yesterday with 22,136 cases.

But here's the rub: I was out yesterday doing a little grocery shopping and a run to Lowe's for some paint to redo a wine rack / glass rack. Hardly anybody was wearing a mask. People simply do not care at all anymore.

I see your virtual learning and raise you:

Ontario will no longer be reporting COVID-19 case figures in schools or child-care settings amid an ongoing, provincewide surge in new infections, according to a pair of memos from the Ministry of Education.

The directives to school boards and child-care centre operators, written on Thursday and released by opposition critics a day later, say the provincial government is suspending the reporting of cases in these facilities because of “changes to case and contact management.”
Stiles’ comments came on the heels of the province’s decision Thursday to delay the return to school by two days to help schools better cope with COVID-19.

The delay was announced at the same time that the province revealed it would significantly curtail who is eligible for government-funded COVID-19 testing.

What the fuck?!

At least here, Governor (read as: worthless moron down at the state capital building) Kemp has simply told everybody, "you're on your own".

Gwinnett (my son's school system) is going back this Thursday as of now. Gwinnett is the largest school system in the state. It is also the only one that has had mask mandates in place since the very beginning.

They don't do testing there at all though. No school system in Georgia does. You are completely on your own when it comes to getting tested. There is no tracking of any kind and never has been since day one.
