COVID Thread

I was out at my friend Scottie's this past weekend (hence the story). He was the baby of the group when we were kids. I was the oldest at around 14, then Frank was 1.5 years younger than me and then Scottie was around 10 I think. He'd come looking for us to go to the pool because young kids weren't allowed to go alone. (Ironically, he was the best swimmer of all of us. Go figure.)

So anyway, Frank's son Jared is there. He's been a colossal fuck-up to this point but he looked good. He's quit all the stupidity of trying to deal pot and such while smoking half of it and got a real job running a fork lift at a warehouse.

So I asked him if he was vaccinated, he said "Nah! I'm not doing that." to which I replied "Your father said the same thing. I'll shake your hand but I'm not hugging you."

Then I turned to Christopher, Scottie's son who was home on leave from the Marines and said, "You're in the Marines. You'd BETTER be vaccinated." and gave him a hug. As I give him a hug he says, "you'd be surprised how many people are crying like a kid who just dropped their ice cream over it."

Looks like he was right.

Right now we're right back where we were at the peak in 2020. You guys have to remember though that there is nobody fucking here! With three exceptions our population is spread way the hell out. Even with that going for us we're fucked just as bad right now as we were in November of 2020. And that new strain isn't even really rolling yet.

394 today. We're now past May of this year which had been our worst single days. We're within a day of breaking the old 7 day averages.

With today's jump we're well on the way to double in 2 - 2.5 days now.
