The Jan 6th TRAITORS

A federal prosecutor showed jurors a string of messages that Metropolitan Police Lt. Shane Lamond and Tarrio privately exchanged in the run-up to a mob’s attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Lamond, an intelligence officer for the city’s police department, was responsible for monitoring groups like the Proud Boys when they came to Washington for protests.

In a message to Tarrio on Dec. 25, 2020, Lamond said Metropolitan Police Department investigators had asked him to identify Tarrio from a photograph. He warned Tarrio that police may be seeking a warrant for his arrest.

Later, on the day of his arrest, Tarrio posted a message to other Proud Boys leaders that said, “The warrant was just signed.”

Not surprised at all. At least half the people that stormed the capital that day were either active or retired military.

Our military largely consist of uneducated, poor white people. They went to the military because they really had no other options going for them in life.

Big surprise they all watch Fox News and drink the Trump cool aid and act accordingly.

This ought to be interesting:

Leaders of the far-right Proud Boys say they intend to subpoena former President Donald Trump to testify in the ongoing trial pertaining to the group’s alleged conspiracy to forcibly derail the transfer of power from Trump to President Joe Biden.
Prosecutors have underscored the group’s repeated responses to Trump’s public statements — from his Sept. 2020 debate-stage exhortation to the group to “stand back and stand by” to his Dec. 19, 2020 tweet urging supporters to attend his Jan. 6 rally. “Be there. Will be wild,” he wrote.
“Donald trump called on patriots to stop the steal. We’re calling on Donald Trump to take the stand,” said Norm Pattis, attorney for Proud Boy Joe Biggs.
My thoughts (and they're free, so no complaining):

If they do call Trump to the stand to somehow justify their attacks, Trump can't say in open court under oath what he did. To do so would be admitting he designed it, that they were following his orders, and that he too is guilty.

Now, it also proves that the Proud Boys are guilty, but they can try to claim "we were just following orders". We all know how that worked out for the Nazis, so I'm not worried about that.

But there's also the fact that Trump will be forced to take the 5th so he won't incriminate himself. The Proud Boys may think that is a win for them, but it still isn't. It still proves that Trump is culpable in the grand scheme of things, but it also proves that they were in there along with him.

I honestly don't know what they're thinking over this - maybe they're hoping for a mistrial or something when the delays come up as Trump will surely fight tooth and nail to never have to walk into that courtroom.

This is a really, really bad move for all concerned in my humble opinion. Nobody on the insurrectionists side can win from this.

I have no idea why they would do it.

I think they believe he will rise up and free them. I willing to bet at least 20% think he can still pardon them if things go wronger. (yes I know it's not a word, but like Phil Hartman I don't care)
