George Santos - typical Republican

Nope. You just may not know what happens if they kick him out.

If a member of congress (House or Senate) resigns or is expelled, the governor of the state he / she came from appoints a replacement to finish out the term.

So the GOP will never kick Santos out because then the democratic governor of New York will replace him with a democrat.

I knew that the governor would name the replacement. But he's part of the house isn't he (which has a ten seat advantage) vice the senate?? or is that my mix up?

That is a very, very small majority. If a rush vote comes up and a few are out of town, or sick, or on vacation or get offered deals by democrats to vote the other way, you lose.

A "safe" majority is 25 or more. 10 is nothing. 9 even less so.

If the republicans had a 35 or 40 seat majority, Santos would have been gone day one.

Bang, bang, Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon his head.

Federal prosecutors have filed criminal charges against New York Rep. George Santos, the Republican lawmaker whose astonishing pattern of lies and fabrications stunned even hardened politicos, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
Santos is expected to appear as soon as Wednesday at federal court in New York’s eastern district, where the charges have been filed under seal.
