I picked this game up for 8 dollars and figured I'd give it a try. It's supposed to be Eve Online without all the pay to win mechanics. I figured what the hell. I'll give it a go.

It's actually much better than Eve Online in about every way possible. First off, graphically, it's much better than Eve. Secondly, Elite puts you in the ship whereas with Eve Online is not a cockpit game. Thirdly, and best of all, there are absolutely ZERO pay to win mechanics. The only thing you can buy in game are graphic kits and skins and that's it.

All the money in the world isn't going to skill you up faster, advance you faster, or make your weapons any more powerful. You buy the game and that's it. You're on your own. Frankly, I like it like that.

Another huge advantage is the ability to play solo with only the AI involved, so you don't get ganked every time you venture out and lose the ship you just bought.

Like Eve Online, there's a VERY steep learning curve, but this game I think makes it worth it.

Been a good while since a game has really sucked me in and occupied my time like this one has. I'm getting in around 4 hours per day. I've not done that since World of Warships when it first came out.
Ah, calming blue.
Puhhhhh It's a Dell... A abomination that needs to be aborted... hehehe just kidding but Dell and I do not get along so... heh...

Yea Elite Dangerous is one of those Diamonds in the rough types of games. Glad you are having fun at it.
