Small bottom branch with one bud set. It's been a bit of a lackluster year. The plants seem small but they ar a different variety (pink lemonade) so thry may naturrally be short. Trimmed the heck out of them when they started budding this time so the bud sets are looking good.
What I plan to do is keep those two branches headed out towards the first rung of the tomato trellis and let them grow to just the other side of it. The trellis will hold them down naturally once they get under it.
That should allow for several nodes to grow upward. I'm hoping to get 2 or 3 on each branch, plus whatever grows up from underneath that.
We'll see how it goes.
Observations: This strain doesn't grow anywhere near as fast as the ILGM White Widow I grew before. By this point on that grow, the plant was already pretty bushy whereas this Cookies Gelato is still looking like a very small seedling.

But yeah. That's sort of what I'm talking about - the two branches I have now will go out to the sides and then wind up like that eventually. Not nearly as big, of course, but that's the pattern I'm going for.
My understanding is it's more making sure the cola's are of equal height which then gives no cola nutrional priority. Unfortunately my growing season sucked enough to be inconclusive.
