Reminder: Derrick Chauvin will be sentenced this coming Friday.

Today is the day.

He was originally facing 40 years. The judge ruled that due to the egregious case, he could increase that.

The prosecution is recommending 30 years.

We'll see what happens, but I'm betting he'll get the 30 or less. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 20.

Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill sentenced Derek Chauvin to 22 ½ years in jail on Friday. Chauvin, the Minneapolis cop who killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck for nine minutes in a brutal 2020 arrest, was convicted of his murder in April.

Yep. He'll be eligible for parole in 15.

Now he has to face the feds. I don't think they'll be nearly as forgiving.

Fucker should have got the max. 1 single aggrevating factor gave the judge the power to double the sentence. This fucker had 5 aggrevating factors against him and he still didn't get the max. It's fucking bullshit. I bet the other three assholes get probation.

22.5 years out of a possible 30 isn't bad.

And 22.5 years doesn't sound very long until you're the one that has to do it.

He'll go in while in his 40's. He'll come out close to 60 at best.

It's effectively a death sentence.

And he still has the feds to look forward to.
