Google Adsense Activated

I just got the notice: it's been suspended for questionable traffic. Not sure what that means. It says that they'll review it and there is no time limit on when or if it will be activated.

I may have screwed up. I was under the impression that my clicks didn't count, but it all of a sudden says in the warning that I am forbidden from ever clicking on an ad. I know I clicked at least 3 or 4 different ones out of curiosity. So I may have inadvertently screwed myself.

Is anybody seeing any ads? For some reason I'm not seeing any, just the placeholders for them.
Nope. Every once in a while I see the space for one but its blank.

That's pretty fucked up. I mean isn't the entire purpose of advertising to get people to look at your shit? Does it matter who looks at it?

I think I see what they see; it wasn't me clicking on a couple ads.

Here's Google data on a site I'm working on for an acquaintance of mine.

Morley stats.jpg

Notice how the clicks and impressions go up and down together until the 10th where the impressions suddenly spike above the clicks?

Now here's EWOT's data from the same time frame:

EWOT stats.jpg

Notice our impressions and clicks run parallel except for one day, the 8th, where there's a similar large spike of impressions?

I think that's what Google is looking at. But here comes the funny part: the 8th was the lowest day for confirmed clicks that we had. We only cleared 90 cents on the 8th.

It was just the second full day Adsense was even active on the site.

Doesn't make a damn bit of sense. What the hell is an impression anyway? Bots consider the decor, color scheme and ambiance of the site?
Basically, it works like this:

A click is how many times someone lands on a site or an ad. They're unique and not open to repetition. Example: the first time you came here today, that gave this site one click. Now, no matter how many times you come and go today, that's only going to be one click. It resets every 24 hours, so you wont count as a click again until tomorrow.

An impression is a bit complicated and to be honest I still don't exactly follow it. By definition, it's a count of the total number of times digital advertisements display on someone's screen within the publisher's network.

But here's the rub: We've been displaying impressions since day one and we've never had advertising until now. Even on the other site (Morley's Muscle) there is no advertising at all. It is still under construction and will be for a long time. (That guy has a TON of stuff.)

So I'm not sure where the impressions come from when you're a site not showing any adverts at all.

I do know this: The 8th, where we had that spike of impressions, is when I was playing around with adding the ads to the site. In the beginning it only displayed in one place: under the logo in the header. This software has all kinds of available pockets you can add them too, so I was experimenting with that.

At one point I hit one setting that put an add between every single post in a thread. It was awful.

So I'm not sure if that's what is messing me up or not.

What's the one that microsoft does? Don't they have one they use with bing and yahoo? Seriously. If Google is that damn picky then to hell with them.
