Frank "Father Guido" Gaudious - February 24th, 1969 to October 16th, 2021

Just got back from the mall doing some shopping. Since my waist has ballooned out to 36 inches and my neck has gotten a bit thicker to 17.5 inches I needed a new pair of black slacks and a new white dress shirt for my friends memorial service on the 21st.

The entire mall is very, very short on them. They've damn near sold out of everything black and white due to all the funerals. It's simply unreal.

But luck was with me as the Haggar Suit Section at JCPenny was virtually untouched.

Just got back. Nice ride. Leaves are all changing, it was nice and cool up there (highs in the high '60's - low '70's) and not crowded at all.

Took this pic after I filled up down the street from the house. Still looks pretty good for a 15 year old bike. Still runs like a scalded dog too.

So last night, laying in bed, I was watching 'The Curse of Frankenstein' with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

I have this habit where when I'm watching a movie, I'll sometimes look up the movie on my phone and read about the people that are in it.

So I was reading about Peter Cushing and in his Wiki they had a quote from Christopher Lee. It's not surprising that Lee and Cushing were good friends, as they did so many movies together - Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy movies - and several of each.

Christopher Lee said this about Cushing, and I thought it hit the head on the nail about my friendship with Frank:

I don't want to sound gloomy, but at some point of your lives, every one of you will notice that you have in your life one person, one friend whom you love and care for very much. That person is so close to you that you are able to share some things only with him. For example, you can call that friend, and from the very first maniacal laugh or some other joke you will know who is at the other end of that line. We used to do that with him so often. And then when that person is gone, there will be nothing like that in your life ever again.

Just found an old picture of John (Vladimir's Revenge) from a bike meet we went to back in 2009.

That's my Vmax right in front. He just bought that 2005 20th Anniversary Vmax (red tank right behind mine) a few months before this meet.

I miss that guy.
