Well, the outside box says 3 ft. and the inside box says 6.5 ft. I can see that. Why are they different ?
What size are they actually ? What were they supposed to be ? And what did you get ?
One says Keymox, the other says MAYA. Is that what you ordered ? or did they ship the wrong one ? Again, not sure which you ordered ?

They managed to put a 6.5 foot long cable in a small box but the cable half that size is in a box nearly twice as large.

The same. The cables look identical in every way, they're just from two different companies. What this is is laziness and it happens a lot. Keymox uses one box for all sized cables.
It saves them a bit of money on setup and they only have to order one size box. The thought of wasting all that materical on smaller size cables doesn't matter to them. If it saves them pennies for ordering different sized boxes they're OK with it.
