First off, hey man! How's it going?
Secondly, I haven't played WoWS in quite a while. I've been goofing around in World of Tanks a bit lately, but that's about it.
I had thought that WoWS was completely developed in the Seattle studio in the United States. I had assumed that when they shut it down they moved operations to Austin along with the rest of it.
Frankly, I haven't cared enough to even look into it.
So have they literally done nothing with WoWS since? I'll have to log in and take a look around and see what's up later today.

Just to give an opinion, during christmas for the award stages, the premium ship for the christmas event was basically a copy and paste scharnhorst and stord was the same as well. The upcoming premium ships are no better as well

If they didn't have the name Montcalm on that ship, I'd swear it was the Dunkerque. The others, as you say, look like already existing ships. That's pretty sad.
In fact, I'm willing to bet the Montcalm is the Dunkerque with paper thin armor on it and that's about it as far as difference goes.

I also saw someone admitting on the WOWS discord that the commonwealth cruiser line were copy and paste and the upcoming Tier 10 Wisconsin is a copy and paste Tier 9 Iowa and the Tier 9 Chikuma is a copy and paste Tier 8 Tone, it’s obvious they do not have an art department

So I finally got around to logging in today, and boy oh boy what a clusterfuck.
First off, on logging in, I get this screen:
Yeah. The anime soft child porn is back. Started to just x out right there, but figured I go on the rest of the way and see how bad it got.
So I get into the game and the ship was sitting in a holiday themed port that looked just awful. I mean, everything looked "cartoony", not semi-real as it used to. So I swopped out to a regular port and it looked pretty much the same.
So I set up for a co-op game since it's been a while since I played. And yeah, they've done something to the lighting that has flat-out ruined how the game looks.
So I finished the game (won, of course) and I get this; I've not seen this before:
So I get back to port, start clicking around a bit and guess what. They STILL have the CHRISTMAS specials going on with TWO DAYS LEFT. In fucking February!
And guess what else! Go on, guess!
As if the "Christmas at Valentine's Day" shit wasn't enough, there's SPACE SHIT!
And if the Space Shit doesn't get you going, there's always the Anime Soft Child Porn shit to get you going!
This is, beyond all doubt, the biggest, walking, talking, breathing cluster-fuck I have ever seen in my life. This is CLEARLY a company that is so desperate they are throwing EVERYTHING at the wall in the vain hope that something, ANYTHING, will stick.
It was once a brilliant game. It was the game without the stat whores, without the clan rigging, without the bogus as hell bullshit...
And look what it has become.
Disgraceful. There's no other word for it. Just flat-out disgraceful.
