I had the same immediate thought whence I came upon the headline but then I thought about long summer day's and midnight in the mid pacific.
Somewhere in my childhood box is a replica aluminum plate I got in 1969 of the lander plate.
I was on a course for the military (way way back) and one of the day trips was up to Spar Aerospace. They were finishing up the original Canada Arm for the Shuttle. Our group was allowed within touching distance. Pure awe. I can still vividly see the gold wrap on the arm in my mind. Three days later it was being shipped to NASA.
