They just had the retired FBI agent of that case who still lives in that area on the news.

She said the movie is in no way based on the case for one reason: the bear died the instant it ate the cocaine. It was found by a hunter mostly decomposed right next to the bag that had the cocaine in it.

She went on to say that not long after that, she was assigned to a case where a cow had died after ingesting meth amphetamine. She said, "What, are they going to make a stupid movie about that too?"
