Stay classy, Atlanta. Stay classy.

The long-running Music Midtown festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, scheduled for Sept. 17-18 with headliners My Chemical Romance, Future, Jack White and Fallout Boy, has been called off, according to a statement issued by festival organizers. The likely cause, industry sources tell Billboard, are recent changes to Georgia gun laws that prevent the festival from banning guns on to the publicly owned festival grounds.

I can see artists adding clauses that they wont play venues that allow weapons.

Yep.

It's part of why every hip-hop gathering ends in several dead after the shooting breaks out. And it happens every single time. It's why Freaknick was banned from Florida, it moved up here, same thing happened, got banned here, moved on to someplace else but eventually died.

Country music festivals have it happen a lot too. You don't hear about it often at a rock concert for that very reason: no guns allowed.

Soundgarden had metal detectors at the entrance to the Fox Theater. As it should be.

You're going to listen to music and have a good time, not take out an enemy rapper or give those east side rednecks whatever it is you think they have coming.
