Georgia governor declares state of emergency, activates 1,000 National Guard troops amid Atlanta protests
The protests follow a shooting last week near a controversial future law enforcement training site in which a Georgia state trooper was wounded and a man was killed.

Yep. Kemp is tired of fucking around with these assholes.
What most people don't know: Governor Kemp used a lot of money from the state's surplus to hire Georgia State Patrol officers to work longer hours in and around the metro Atlanta area to try to help stem the unbelievable levels of crime we've been seeing since the pandemic hit.
It has worked as across the board violent crime is down 19% since 2021.
It just so happened to be some of those GSP officers that were patrolling that area when the one was shot by that now dead idiot. Then those very same idiots decide to riot downtown and bust out windows, set a patrol car on fire and hurl Molotov cocktails at everybody.
So now they can deal with 1,000 National Guard members armed to the teeth. I expect more than a few "protesters" (read as militia assholes that make a living doing this shit and blaming Antifa) to be shot dead in the coming weeks.

This intersection is about 1.5 miles from my house. I go through it several times per week. In fact, I just came through it on the way home from grocery shopping.
Now, there's no excuse for the car doing that (he should have just called the cops), but all of the cyclist should be cited. Again. Every time I see these assholes blocking the road, I call the cops.
Cyclist on the road are supposed to ride single file on the right side of the lane. That makes it easy for cars to get around them safely. Around here, there are two types of cyclist: those who obey the rules of the road as they should and typically wear regular workout attire when they ride, and these assholes that all dress alike as though they're in the Tour de Frace, ride two and three wide, hold up a line of traffic a mile long and laugh about the entire time.
Frankly, they deserve whatever happens to them. You act like an asshole long enough, somebody is going to treat you accordingly.

Even here they have to ride single file and not abreast. About 20 years ago I had two cyclists riding abreast while leaving the base. I waited for open space on the approaching lane and passed and shouted they should be in a single file. One started swearing right away as I drove off. Since we were at the bottom of a hill I got to the top well before them and lo and behold there's an MP car (military police - base property waiting on speeders leaving base). I pull up beside them on the other side and explain about the cyclists. Thanks they say. Sure enough here comes tweedled dee and tweedled dum still riding abreast. MP's pull out and slow down beside cyclists. I can see the window open on passenger side and MP talks to cyclists. Tweedle dum starts waving his arms again. I can now hear MP yell sternly and point to curb while lights on cruiser come on.
I slowly pull out of the lot and drive home.
