Ron desantis Is A Piece of Shit

Well, it's nothing new. If you're convicted of a felony, you can't vote. That's it. If you do anyway, you're guilty of voter fraud.

Same thing happens everywhere that's the law. Texas sentenced a woman to 5 years for it a couple years ago because she had done it repeatedly.

It happens here a lot too.

Some people just keep on doing things they shouldn't be doing after being convicted of a felony, like voting, having a gun, hanging out with other people that have a felony conviction...

The list is endless.

Wow.
The only way to lose voting rights up here is to be convicted of corrupt electoral practices and even then they can only deny the right to vote for set period (these restrictions are acceptable because they are a sanction aimed at the very offence committed by the individual, rather than being a general disenfranchisement).

The only two things they can take away forever here is the right to own a firearm and driving privileges.

In Georgia, if you're convicted of a felony, you lose your right to vote for life. You're done. That's it. Forever.

In Florida, you can actually get your right to vote back after you serve out your entire sentence, finish any probationary period and pay any and all fines and restitution.

So they have it better in Florida than people do here. This is not something Ron DeSantis created. It's been that way for decades.

So if a Georgian convicted felon moved out of state would he regain a voting right after a set period or instantly?
It would be up to that state's laws.

Example: if a convicted felon moved from Georgia to Florida, then he would have the same chance to reinstate his right to vote as any other Floridian.

But if that same guy moved to Alabama, he's still screwed.
