“His amazing career spanned six decades that saw him sell over 100 million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World."

HeraldScotland:

The singer, whose real name was Michael Lee Aday, has sold millions of albums worldwide, with the Bat Out Of Hell trilogy among his most popular musical offerings.

Full disclosure: I'm not positive this is true.

An old friend of mine from Charleston knew him and is a big fan. Apparently, he met him through a relative years ago at a softball game. According to him, his relatives daughter played softball and Meatloaf was the coach of the girl's softball team.

I don't recall if it was a cousin, uncle or whatever, or where the game took place, but that's the story.

My dad had about 5 cassettes laying around he always listened to. Some Johnny Cash, a best of Kenny Rogers album of some sort, a live tape of Lynard Skynard, a best of Alabama and Meatloaf's bat out of hell. That was it. That was all he listened to other than just news talk radio on 750 AM.

Johnny Cash - Some of his stuff is OK.
Kenny Rogers - Boring except for one song with First Edition:
Lynyrd Skynyrd - They're OK but get old really quick.
Alabama - Music to slip into a coma by.
Meatloaf - Meh.
