Ned Beatty, the indelible character actor whose first film role in 1972's Deliverance launched him on a long, prolific and accomplished career, has died. He was 83.
Just saw it on the news. I loved him in the old Superman movies.
One of my favorite movie quotes from him comes from 'Back to School' when the stuck up professor is asking how Rodney Dangerfield's character got into the school and he says, "in defense of Mr. Melon, it was a VERY big check."
