Federal government invokes Emergencies Act

“Ms. Lich has chosen to exercise her freedom by not following a court order.”

Yep. And so she'll sit her ass in jail till the trial. Rightly so.

Now let's see if her lawyer keeps asking for a continuance. I'm betting he won't.

The motion says Howland and other donors "knew or ought to have known" that the Freedom Convoy protesters were breaking the law and disrupting the lives of residents and workers in the downtown by blasting their truck horns and spewing diesel fumes.
Those who donated money online did so "with the intention of encouraging and facilitating those acts," lawyer Paul Champ argues in his motion.
And that is about as good an argument as you'll ever come across. Everybody knew exactly what was going on. If you looked at all of that and decided to fund it, you're just as guilty as those who were there actually doing it.

Canada

The country's Criminal Code makes mischief a hybrid offence, punishable by up to and including life imprisonment if the mischief causes actual danger to human life.[4] Public mischief is the term for the crime of wasting police time.[5]

U.S. Customs considers a Canadian criminal mischief charge to be an offence of "moral turpitude".

Mischief, or as the U.S. describes it, "malicious destruction of property", is considered to be a moral turpitude offence as defined by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Affairs Manual Volume 9. This means those who commit mischief offences in Canada may be determined inadmissible for entry into the United States.
