I knew that motherfucker Kavanaugh was a fraud.
And this is what I've said all along that people don't get when they kept accusing the FBI of not doing its job against Kavanaugh. It's NOT the job of the FBI to go after people based on background checks done during vetting. It's up to the white house to tell them to dig deeper and/or act.
The reason for that is simple: the FBI in those circumstances has no standing. Anything they would find would be inadmissible in court as they themselves had no probable cause to search for those things to begin with.
Another example: If the police have permission to search your house for drugs, the warrant will say that specifically. It will also give a description of the places they're allowed to search. But lets say they find a bunch of forged passports while they're looking for the drugs. Well, there's nothing they can do about that because that's NOT what they're permitted to be searching for. Or, lets say they find drugs in a place they weren't supposed to search. That, too, is inadmissible.
When the FBI was told to do those background checks, it's a similar situation. That they found additional things they weren't looking for is useless, unless somebody then gives them probable cause to continue an investigation into it. In that case, it would be the white house.
The white house didn't bother to do a damn thing.
