The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear a case that could dramatically change how federal elections are conducted. At issue is a legal theory that would give state legislatures unfettered authority to set the rules for federal elections, free of supervision by the state courts and state constitutions.

The theory, known as the "independent state legislature theory," stems from the election clause in Article I of the Constitution. It says, "The times, places and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof."

And truth be told, it's that way already.

The thing they keep trying to push is the "we can throw out the people's vote and elect who we want with the state legislature."

If that actually passes, no republican will ever be president again. They'll lose the states with the biggest number of electors forever.
 
It's complete bullshit. They'd have to change the entire state constitution to allow for that. It'll never happen; at least in Georgia.

On another note: just got home. Saw the oddest thing on the drive.

Every single tractor trailer I passed was SPOTLESS. I mean meticulously cleaned. Showroom floor quality.

I've never seen anything like it. Part of me wonders if a bunch of trucking companies used PPP loans to just buy all new equipment.
