You know, you would be very hard pressed to find someone that had a tougher childhood than I did.

With it all, I was born white, male and heterosexual. It's the trifecta of humanity. It's like winning the lottery.

No, my being a white, male heterosexual didn't make my life any easier, but it certainly didn't make it any harder either. I shudder to think what would have happened had I been a woman, gay, black, homosexual, or any combination thereof.

I have no clue what would have happened, but I'm pretty sure we're not sitting here having this conversation.
