Ukraine / Russia Thread

You ever seen a Russian window? It's pretty much impossible to fall out of one.

Most Russian buildings are triple layered to withstand the extreme cold. It makes the window sills about a foot and a half thick. You have to literally crawl out of it. You can't simply lean out a window and fall.

Russia is in a lot of trouble. They've already resorted to hiring mercenaries and expanding the age of service and it's just no substitute for experience.

This is exhibit A on the difference between a 700 billion dollar budget and a 40 billion dollar budget.

A Russian army forced to retreat in Ukraine was meant to be an elite tough enough to fight NATO, UK intel said.

Britain's Ministry of Defence said in a Tuesday intelligence update that the 1st Guards Tank Army (1 GTA) was among the Russian forces who fled the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine.

The troops were forced to retreat after Ukraine launched a swift counterattack in the last week, recapturing swaths of territory from Russian control in the region.

Regardless of what troops were there, it was a rout.

The only thing that worries me is if it's a ruse by the Russians. Sucker them in, let them overextend themselves, then cut them off and wipe them out altogether.

From what we've seen, I don't think the Russians are that smart anymore. But they have done it before.
