Travel Woes

It's bad up here too. When we left we had an afternoon flight and security line wasn't bad out of Halifax airport (YHZ). I do know mornings at YHZ can be horrendous but certainly not as bad as some of the major cities. We've had reports of people being stuck onboard overseas flights for hours waiting to get through medical and customs. At times only those connecting are allowed off immediately.
Toronto airport (YYZ) is asking people to arrived 3.5 hours early even for domestic and I understand that may not be enough. We are leaving through Hamilton airport (YHM). I was lucky enough to find a flight out of there home so it wont be bad for security check-in. And YHM is actually a shorter drive for me then YYZ.

Back when covid was really bad here they said something similar: arrive 3 to 4 hours early as they were short handed with security / screening staff. But that of course is at the busiest airport on earth and it was back when thousands were dying every week.

It's really only the covid questions taking up the time. But that is now multiplied by the sheer volume of normal travelers
