Yeah. Given the current "6 months probation and 500 dollar fine" mentality of the Merrick Garland "sweep it all under the rug" justice department strategy, it seems highly unlikely, doesn't it?
I'm not sure it's unlikely. With $20,000 / 20 years max they should end up with more then the 'swept-up' layperson has been getting.

But so far this government has done pretty much everything it can to cover it all up. Not one person of any real interest has been so much as subpoenaed over it and the very few that have just said "no" and weren't charged with contempt. (Meadows, etc.)

Your assessment isn't that far off, unfortunately. It certainly looks like they're taking the mediocre lane in justice.
Such a tragedy for such a fine, upstanding gubernatorial candidate.
