WOT Shenanigans

And all these problems still exist.
Ain't that the truth.

The sad part is it never changed. From the day I started playing in 2012 to the day I last played 4 or 5 years later it was:
  • Poor MM
  • Arty
  • Ridiculous levels of RNG
  • Toxic environment
  • Rigged contests/events (match fixing)
And nothing was ever done to address any of it. The MM was never changed. Arty was actually made far worse. The RNG was changed only once but people started complaining they were getting pummeled because people could actually hit what they were aiming at, so they undid that and went back to roulette wheel RNG.

The only thing they ever did about the toxic environment is turn off cross team chat. They never perma-banned the well known abusers who were "friends" of the WoT in crowd. Hell, we had stuff on the Wargaming employees spewing racist hate, bullying and everything else and nothing was ever done about it.

And of course it was always the same clans rigging the contests and events ruining it for everybody else. Wargaming did nothing about any of that either.

Just keep hurling in new OP tanks, wait for them to stop selling, nerf the hell out of them, introduce another OP tank, rinse-repeat.

Frankly, I'm amazed they're still in business. I truly am. I figured they would have gone the way of the dodo by now.
All these problems still exist. Shocker I know. The biggest issue out of that list is the damn RNG. Ghost shells are a huge issue as well. MM has gotten better. Still though, the EBRs and 3 arty system is flawed.

The +- 25% to penetration is ridiculous, shells just disappearing, 105 MM of HE yielding 35 damage to a 5mm plate is just mind numbing, and .26 dispersion missing a tank at 15 meters will make me rage quit. Funny thing is, I told myself that it is random. You hear " Just play 100 more battles and it will even out" But then realize that it happens so often, its impossible to be random. Its like flipping a coin and always landing on tails.

Just play 100 more battles and it will even out
They've used that moronic argument since day one. We took that to task not long before we all started quitting in 2016. Back then, the typical battle lasted just short of 9 minutes, so we rounded it off to 8 to give the benefit of any doubt.

Times 100 battles that's 800 minutes. Divide that by 60 and you wind up with 13.3 hours.

Among us, the typical game session was 45 minutes to an hour and maybe a two hour session on Saturday or Sunday. So in short, the average person not living his/her entire life playing the game would take TWO WEEKS to "even out".

And they wonder why people got frustrated and quit.

I hated the bullshit spotting system too. You're looking right at the guy and POOF! Fucker up and vanishes right before your eyes like a fart in a whirlwind. Then of course they say LEARN THE SPOTTING SYSTEM!!!

That was what made the game so damn frustrating. Their so called systems defied all logic and made no fucking sense whatsoever.

Oh hell yeah. I remember that. There was one thread I remember where this tiny bush made an entire heavy tank vanish and nobody could figure out how it could possibly make sense.

Then they came back with: There's only one node (dot) on the lower front part of the tank that enables it to be seen.

So what that pretty much dictated was that a full grown bull elephant could not be seen if it was standing behind a bouquet of blooming flowers.

They can just purchase tier 8s and 10s and skip the learning curve.
But that's not their fault man. That's the games fault. They do everything but force you to buy a fucking premium to make it. I played for free for a couple weeks or so and when I made it to I think t4 or t5 I couldn't get anywhere. I couldn't make enough money to buy upgrades or buy another tank. So I bought a premium IS6 to make some money and free XP and it worked. I was never a great player or anything but shit. How else can you make money? And I never knew you could buy a T10 tank. Not without grinding up to it and buying it that is. I never made it. Quit before I got there.

But that's not their fault man.

We all bought in. Come on. That's not in doubt.

The first premium I "bought" was gifted to me. It was the Churchill III. I could take that thing out, lose, and still make 25,000 to 30,000 credits. If I had a decent game I could easily make 35,000 to 50,000 credits.

It was worth about 3 or 4 dollars if memory serves.

Next thing you know, they remove it's MM assignments and let it face T5's it had no chance against without gold rounds. Then they nerfed its earnings. Then they nerfed its gold ammo costs.

They essentially made it completely worthless to own.

They manipulated not only the "free to play" model, but even the "pay to win" model.

So now they've put WoT on Steam hoping to fleece a new crowd of people. It's funny though. All the present players are going over to Steam and leaving bad reviews on the game becuase they can't use their existing accounts through Steam. Its hysterical.
