We have a joke at Georgia Tech - UGA is the cesspool of the south. We even have a song about it.

Unfortunately, I think those days are over. I truly believe that Walmart has taken the title away from UGA for the official Cesspool of the South.

I don't like going to Walmart. It's too big. I don't like walking very long distances for obvious reasons. (For those who don't know, my spine, knees, legs and ankles are pretty much shot.)

But I went by there today because Kroger was completely sold out of my Gold Bond Powder Spray I love so much. It had been a while since I had been in the Walmart in question, which is the Suwanee Super Center located at 3245 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd, Suwanee, GA 30024.

It looked like a bomb had hit the place. A big one. I'm talking about a MOAB or something close to it. Crap was EVERYWHERE. You couldn't go down half the isles because there was so many boxes, pallets and buggies full of products.

The employees ignore you completely. They pretend you're not there, refuse to make eye contact and even if you ask them for help to the point they finally turn around, they look at you with a look of absolute contempt, they just shrug at whatever question you ask.

This is the world's largest retailer.

I tell you, I don't see it holding water for much longer. Just take a look at this place:

And it was filthy. I actually took a shower when I got home.

I think it's important to also point out, this wasn't at the peak hours of some holiday. This was today: Tuesday, October 18th, 2022 at 9:30 AM.
