TV providers vs no TV provider

Then you don't need the boxes for TV. If you use the TV remote (NOT the cable remote) and go to the menu and check the inputs, you will be set on the cable option, but if you look around in there you will see an antenna option as well, and if you select that you will see how it has an autoprogram ability.

You simply get a direct air antenna, run it to the coaxial cable where the cable runs, go to that auto program for direct air and boom. Done.

If your TV isn't smart (it has no apps and no ability to stream from the internet because it has no wifi connection) and you want to do away with Cable TV, I can send you a Blu-ray player you can use after Christmas that will stream Netflix, Amazon and other stuff. (I'm going to have a spare one once my 4k player goes in.)

Oh, that would be cool.

Of course here, "We can't mount large outside antenna's because of this being an HOA community, ( No dishes, or anything like that outside, you know the rules of this place ) " We can't mount anything on the side of the building. I don't know how to do it from the outside anyway ? I would have to do it from the inside.

Are we talking about the inside antenna system ? Inside antenna's ?

First off, they're not large. Secondly, you can also opt for an indoor one, but they're not quite as good usually.

For instance, you can get one of these for indoors:

That should be more than enough to pull in all your local news channels, PBS, things like that. Then you hook up the bluray player I'll send you to your HDMI and use that for Netflix, Amazon and stuff like that.

Here's a literal screen shot of the Blueray Player on my TV:

And you're done. You watch your news over the air for free, any shows you want to watch you just watch on the streaming bluray player.

Good thread. My uncle has a simple digital rabbit ears setup and it works good. His tv isn't 4k or anything it's a 45 inch but you can't tell it isn't cable. We watch the games on it and movies on a bluray. I had cable and internet when I had my place but once I get back on my feet I'm going the route Gomez has gone and just getting an antenae and stream stuff.
