Supreme Court takes up Texas law banning most abortions

Didn't read the article but was listening to NPR on the way to work this morning. Kavanaugh made a point on something that I was fucking shocked at. He was asking the Texas lawyers something like "what happens if other states start to do something like this with all the other constitutional rights? For instance what if someone went after free speech or right to bear arms and could violate those rights by way of leaving it to the people to enforce?"

I was fucking shocked. He is right you know. If this Texas bullshit goes I give it a few months before laws against pretty much everything start getting put into effect. You just mod it like the Texas abortion law and let people enforce it by civil suits and you can effectively outlaw any fucking thing.

I heard rumblings of this a bit ago but I see kavanaugh decided to speak out.

Yes, the way the law is written you could literally substitute in any constitutional right and bam! everyone gets to sue.
