DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES -- A skyscraper-sized container ship has become wedged across Egypt's Suez Canal and blocked all traffic in the vital waterway, officials said Wednesday, threatening to disrupt a global shipping system already strained by the coronavirus pandemic.

This fucking reeks of saudia rabies touch.

I was reading about that earlier. Apparently they're having very high winds from a sand storm, but I can't help but think that's a pretty common occurrence to deal with there.

It does seem odd that I don't recall this ever happening before. Not that my memory is worth that much anymore, but still...

Oil rose more than 4% on Wednesday after a ship ran aground in the Suez Canal, and worries that the incident could tie up crude shipments gave prices a boost after a slide over the last week.

The upper salary fro a tanker captain I can find is 196k (by Maersk) but the medium seems to be about 65-70k. Offer someone like that 20 million for retirement and make a few hundred million in price surging.

Hey, I'm just throwing out ideas. 🤷‍♂️

They should ban Saudi tankers from the canal for a fucking year for that stunt.
