DeSantis, a one-time Donald Trump ally, plays an active role in stoking social and political anxieties, primarily among white Americans, that stem from conversations about race and gender that occur on K-12 public school campuses. In April 2022, he signed the Stop Woke Act, which severely limits “race-based” discussions at schools.

And people wonder why I do NOT want to visit or vacation in Florida anymore. Another state fucked by republicans.

Here's the rub: it's an AP course. FYI that means you can get a college credit for it. It's not a core curriculum class. You have to choose, and pay, to take it.

The only people that would take it are students interested in it that were college bound.

It's just hate for hates sake.

I wouldn't read too much into that. It's yet more drama queening on the part of democrats. The teachers did that, not anyone else.

Florida simply prohibited books that were not on the already approved list. In other words, no LGBTQ books allowed. So what these boneheads did was simply box up every book they had and say, "Oh look! They took all our books!"

It has no basis in reality. At all. If it did, there would be hundreds of schools posting the same thing. There aren't. This is one classroom in one school in a democratic leaning district.

It's pure drama queening bullshit.

Again, it is exactly as I said: They are banning books that aren't even in the classroom. Most haven't even been printed or distributed yet. If they aren't already on the list, then they don't belong in the classroom.

This all started over the LGBTQ folks sending in a lot of LGBTQ children's books with their kids to school to share with the classroom that were not on the list of approved school books. Those had to be removed.

Now the democrats are trying to back door things by loading up new book submissions with the same thing and those are being rejected.

Again, not one single book that was there last week was banned. This is new shit the democrats are doing to spark outrage. One teacher and her assistant decide to drama queen it and box up everything and take a picture and people buy that bullshit as being an epidemic throughout the nation.

Again, it isn't and it wasn't. It was one classroom in one school, drama queening the fuck out of it.

Do I agree with DeSantis? Hell no.

But I don't fall for the bullshit, staged photo drama queening either. If that were actually going on, as I said before, you'd have a hundred stories from a hundred teachers from all across Florida.

You don't. And you won't. Because it simply is not happening.
 
This shit has been going on since before I was ever born and every single demographic has had their hand in it.

I was in the middle of reading The Two Towers when the atheist came in and had Lord of the Rings banned for too closely resembling the Bible.

I remember my freshman year in high school when the blacks were offended and had Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn banned.

I was a senior when they banned Fahrenheit 451, Lord of the Flies and Dante's Inferno.

This is just the same bullshit all over again. It goes on in this country non-stop and always has.
