Major League Baseball on Friday pulled this year's All-Star Game out of Atlanta in protest of Georgia's new restrictive voting law.

The "Midsummer Classic" was set for July 13 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, in addition to other activities connected to the game, such as the annual MLB Draft.

"I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year's All-Star Game and MLB Draft," Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. said in a statement. "Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box."

That's showing them by golly.

And now to the news. Our Fucking Government is Still Fucked up and it is getting worse.

As far as showing ID? I've Always was asked to show ID to vote... and I live in Cali.

Same here. You walk in show your license they give you the plastic key to the machine and off you go. I still call bullshit on all the ID law hate becuase how the fuck do you have anything else without one? A bank account. Alcohol. A loan of any kind. A credit card. You can't get anything without an ID. So all this shit that asking for ID's is voter suppresion is just bullshit.

No voter cards?

We don't have them. You're registered in the computer. When you walk in to vote, you sign in and they check your ID with your sign in to see if you match the record and that you haven't voted already.

Once you do that they give you the plastic card (like a credit card with your information on it) that you put in the voter machine.

The machine ask you to verify your information once more. Once you do that it moves on to each election taking place one per screen and you vote.

I haven't used the new machines because I voted by mail this time, but it's the same as it used to be except instead of bring shown a review screen where you can review all your votes they now print a sheet out that you look at and sign. Then that paper ballot is taken up and the machine processes your votes.

That's it.

Typically, I'm in and out of George Pierce Park voting center in less than 15 minutes.

The only exception: Barack Obama round 2. Took me 3 hours.

Well there's a card you fill out if you register in person but it's not something you carry with you. It's about the same as Gomez says. They tell you where you go to vote when you register so that's that. You go there and sign in and they check you out and you vote on the machine. You do have to show your license though or some form of ID card.

Our voter cards are sent out about 2 months before an election. They are pretty much all you need to confirm yourself. None of that stops the polling station from checking ID but I've never seen that.
Typically the list is made from tax returns (if the voter has okayed Revenue Canada to pass the info) and previous elections and voter registrations.
That being said there is nothing stopping you from voting by ID if your registered. Even if your not registered you can vote with the right ID and one other ID (iirc) by a 'declaration of oath'.

That's a good system if the people actually file tax returns. Most idiots in this country don't. That's why our commercial breaks are always the same. A lawyer wanting to sue for your accident then a drug company telling you how much their drug can do for you followed by a fucking laundry list of side effects and that's followed up by companies that can settle with the IRS for pennies on the dollar of what you owe.

Can confirm. Only down here it's 3 lawyer commercials first, then two Big Pharma commercials, then the one tax relief commercial.
