John Hopkins study and fellow co-worker

Well, it's getting more nasty.

This morning, while working on some equipment, me and my boss were trouble shooting on something.

While doing that, "the person in question Mr. Anti Masker" comes waddling down. Being annoying etc just in his presence. Well, anyway, there was still a question that needed to be asked about the equipment, so that meant I had to go upstairs ( my sup. took a short cut, and didn't explain, nothing new with him. )

So, I get upstairs, and in the door way I try to ask him on the issue etc. So, "anti masker shit for brains" while eating a banana walks up with no social distancing standing on my heals practically, I turned around and gave him a bad look like back off you dick.

So, about the time I get ready to leave, him and the other anti-maker ( a supervisor ) comes out of his office, and starts chanting, "Death to all Democrats! They should be beaten, taken out and hung! They should be this and that.. etc.. all of them..." As, I turned away our other one tried to add a few other hurdles about democrats, which I didn't say anything, other than, "I thought you didn't watch the news you said," Then, I turned and walked away. ( He didn't know what he was talking about anyway. )

Not one word of protest, or anything from my glorious supervisor.

So, I just got done sending out an e-mail to the person who I know well down at the Institutional and Equity Office, concerning the hostile work environment, and the violations about the mask issues etc.

He got the e-mail. It goes to HR. This one does not fall under his area. Someone in HR does this.
He said, yea, there are some employee problems there.

You need to start carrying your phone with you with the camera running. Even if you don't get the video, you'll get the audio.
I couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying.

And, I’ve done so in the past already! Just a few years ago, when their was trouble. Still have those recordings btw, incidentally.

The problem here is I had no Idea this was going to happen.

But, there’s more, and there’s no way I could have had the phone ready for this:

I left work at noon, to leave for my trip early ( which I had already arranged in advance etc. )

I left the building went walking down the side walk started heading towards my car before the cross walk, the other Re-Trump-lican came out the side door to check something on the systems.

He looked up and yelled at me something to the effect merry Xmas, in an odd strange manner type of way, and said maybe you will ? I turned around and said, well I wouldn’t know really, we’ll see I guess ?

So, then he starts saying some shit about, how you should not take offense to what we do or say etc, we make our decisions about what we do etc.

I told him, however you and you friend only chose to do so timed at the right moment directed towards those along political lines, and with disregard to others safety, in the mindset of a pandemic, both of you.

He said, “ We are not going to wear mask we don’t have don’t to, besides it does no good.. so why should we!”

He went on further to say, “ Those mask don’t mean anything, because if I fart I can still smell it through the mask. And, ( this is where it gets good ) Those shots are the “Mark of the beast” because they have luminous contained inside the vaccines, and when they scan your temperature that’s how they can know you have taken the mark of the beast!

When this school comes down and forces us to take the vaccines I will refuse to do so! Then, I will quit!!

You’re too sensitive you should just get over this, instead of getting annoyed and pissed off; if you don’t like it well you can always head out there to the sidewalk and look for something else other than here.

I said to him, “Why are you still here in that case ?” He wouldn’t answer.

Then, he started saying things like how the democrats wanted to string Trump up, and have him done in etc and asked me about religion etc.

I said, “ what does all of this have to do with wearing mask, vaccines, etc” I said since when have I ever come upstairs and ever said anything to anything about Trump? Even anything bad toward Trump ? No, I never have, have I ? So, what does that have to do with me ?

I then asked him, “ Do you know what hostile work environment means ? “ I said, why do you think maybe why I avoid coming up there now as it is? Not to mention this also answers limited my limited exposure upstairs due to hostile potential viral load exposure, and other hostile environmental reasons.

He said a few other “Zaney” things, so yea I wished I had the I phone on in my pocket.

Oh, HR did call me back. She gave me the number of how to get the signs placards for mask usage. Etc.

And, I also at least got the name of the lady for employee relations that I could speak to for these problems.

No one will be back until the 4th of next year. And, then you can only speak to someone by phone or Skype or something.

Is Tennessee a one-party state in regards to recording consent? I believe some states require both/all parties to be aware of the recording.
And remember, one-party doesn't include just listening to others - you have to be an active participant.
Don't get caught recording other conversations your not part of carte blanc.

So, yea the twilight zone music of the alt universe was playing loudly for sure.”

These people are whacked out of their skulls 💀!! The vaccines contain the mark of the beast, the luminous is contained in the syringe, so they can scan your forehead with the temperature checkers, the newer ones will contain the ability to identify you.

You see, it’s not going to be by a mark but the vaccines....🤪

See, why don’t we think of ideas like this ?

This is where U.S. law sort of departs from reality. We use what can best be described as a shotgun approach to privacy. It's full of holes.

It is mostly based on the phrase "a reasonable expectation of privacy". For instance, if you're at home on the phone talking in confidence to a best friend on the phone, you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. You feel more secure in that type of conversation and so would say things you wouldn't otherwise say.

On a college campus in public, you have no expectation of privacy.

So regardless of what the written law is, it can change dramatically based on the circumstances. Officers have had tapes thrown out because they were recorded in a public bathroom based on the idea that it is a bathroom and one has a reasonable expectation of privacy while they're taking a dump.

It's a real mess as to what is and isn't legal depending on the circumstances. In @Capitalism_is_Theft case, he works at a public university in the public domain. He can record his comings and goings at will. Whoever happens to come into and out of those recordings is incidental.

However, if there were a meeting to be called between he and a supervisor in the supervisors office, that MIGHT be different. On the one hand, state law says he has the right to record because he consented to the recording. On the other, the supervisor could argue that in his office, behind a closed door, in a private one-on-one meeting, he had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

It would be up to the judge/jury to decide that one.

Expectation of privacy can be given up by one party - it shouldn't matter which party.

The bigger caution is running around with the recorder going and getting private conversation tidbits - that could be construed as eves-dropping.

BUT, it is America and dollars buy convictions...

Again, that depends.

Officers recording conversations in public bathrooms have lost that argument. People in phone conversations have sued and won based on that argument. One persons consent in a conversation where the other party has an expectation of privacy is often illegal in most jurisdictions.

That's why to this day the police, media and others always say, "would you mind if I record this conversation" before beginning a one on one interview.
