There were also exchanges with Meadows that were revealed earlier about "losing everything we have gained" (in relation to trumps inaction on the 6th).
Yep. So they all knew they were actually going to try to overturn the election. I'm not so sure they all knew about the capitol building being stormed, but I'm confident they all knew about the bogus "let's just throw out the electoral votes in these 6 states and claim victory" plot.

I don't particularly care for Rachael Maddow as I think she's an overly dramatic douchebag, but she has been actually working a story while everybody else sat on their ass.
The fake electoral ballots that the GOP sent in to try to give the election to Trump.
Apparently, they made up forged electoral ballots and sent them in. They wanted Pence to certify those ballots in place of the real ones so that Trump would win the election.
Allegedly, that was the entire reason for storming the capitol: to get the actual electoral ballot box and replace the real ballots from several states with the fake ones the GOP had created. That way, when the smoke cleared and those votes were counted, Trump would be the president.
One problem - and it's an obvious one - whoever forged the documents literally just typed them up. They didn't even bother finding out what the real state electoral documents looked like.
Originally, Maddow had come across three states with fake documents sent it. It's now up to 5. Not surprisingly, it's the same 5 states that Trump and his followers challenged and forced recount after recount in.
It's worth the watch, as sickening as she is to listen to:

"As a representative and the leader of the minority party, it is with neither regret nor satisfaction that I have concluded to not participate with this select committee's abuse of power that stains this institution today and will harm it going forward," McCarthy said in a statement Wednesday night.
It's up to 7 states now. The only state I've read doing anything about it at all is Michigan. They're going to press charges of forgery against the electors that signed the bogus ballot voucher.
