Infrastructure? Who needs Infrastructure.

And now the report from three years ago showing concerns about spawling and cracks in the pillars arises.
Everything is like that down here. All the buildings are shit. They just pay someone to look the other way or spackle over the cracks and shit to make it look good and keep on going. They don't give a shit. When one collapses like this they file bankruptcy and open a new company and move on and do the same fucking thing all over again. I'll bet money that lawsuits fly but ultimately nobody will ever get a dime out of it.

If the building I was living in needed 15 million dollars of repairs my ass would be gone.

Somebody should go to prison over this.

Meanwhile, concerns are high about the sister building one block down the street. It's the same exact building built by the same contractor at the same time.
So this is released today - apparently the original inspector in 2018 said this:

The language used to describe the structural problems in the 40-year-old building has varied since an engineer brought in by the condominium board first reviewed the tower in 2018.
In a report that year, the engineer, Frank Morabito, wrote that "failed waterproofing" below the pool deck and the entrance drive was "causing major structural damage to the concrete structural slab below these areas" and warned that failure to replace it in the near future would cause "concrete deterioration to expand exponentially."

Then, a couple months later you get this:

But an inspector from the town of Surfside, Ross Prieto, told residents at a November 2018 meeting that building was "in very good shape," according to minutes obtained by CNN earlier this week.
State inspector sounds the alarm. Local inspector says everything is fine. Yeah, he got paid. He and whoever paid him is going to prison.

We'll just keep hiring inspectors until we find one that tells us what we want to hear. They should all go to fucking jail.

Now that the rest of the building is down they're going at it much more aggresively. They're finding a lot of bodies now. Only around 90 now not accounted for. The rest are all confirmed dead. I'm pretty sure they're all dead by now.

Just saw on the news: There was a black cat found a couple of days ago wondering around the building site. It was taken to the local animal shelter as was identified as a family cat. It was returned to the relatives of its owners.

The cat had lived on the 9th floor of the collapsed part of the building. How it survived is anybody's guess. Not a scratch on it...and it's a solid black cat.
