Contributors had to wade through a fine-print disclaimer and manually uncheck a box to opt out.

As the election neared, the Trump team made that disclaimer increasingly opaque, an investigation by The New York Times showed. It introduced a second prechecked box, known internally as a “money bomb,” that doubled a person’s contribution. Eventually its solicitations featured lines of text in bold and capital letters that overwhelmed the opt-out language.

I got duped into one of those by a game site. I signed up for a discount but I didn't see where if you didn't uncheck the box you got a subscription. It was only 3 dollars per month so I only lost three dollars because once I saw it I disabled it and left a really shitty review on them. That's how business is done now. just fuck people over. Trick and hide and decieve people to make money. It should be illegal!

It's like all the EULAs everyone checks when they install apps and games. You'd have to have a team of lawyers spend a week deciphering all the bullshit to understand what it means.
