How It Begins (Texas ban on virtually all abortions takes effect as U.S. Supreme Court stays silent)

Saw it on the news as I was laying in bed and the disgust just sucked what little energy I had left completely out of me. What pissed me off most was the video of that worthless Greg Abbott signing the law into effect with 50 men and maybe 4 women in the shot with him.

How on earth any woman could ever be a republican is simply beyond me.

Well, Merrick Garland is on the TV right now talking about this. He's filing a motion for an immediate and permanent injunction against this new Texas law. He didn't split hairs on how unconstitutional it is. He also came up with an argument I didn't see coming: that by issuing bounties to private individuals it actually is hiring people to violate other people's constitutional rights.

I did not see that one coming. Well done, AG Garland.

So it took the Biden administration three weeks to get a federal judge to put a stay on this ridiculous abortion law. It took the 5th circuit court of appeals less than one day to undo that and put it right back into effect.

The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals acted swiftly to grant Texas' request for an administrative stay of the order, which it had filed Friday afternoon.
