Google is running a new auto optimize experiment and I opted in for it. Hopefully it won't completely screw the site up like the regular auto ads did.
Give it a day to settle because it takes up to 48 hours and things might go sideways a bit.
After that, if you see weird shit start to happen again, please let me know.

See? Presently I don't see a single one.
Edit to add: that's why I said wait 24 hours. Once they run different schemes over and over it tends to settle down. Then I can go in and see if there are any areas I can block that I don't like. Then we'll see where we are.

Well, cutting off the auto ads after they went batshit pretty much killed all revenue to the site. About 99.5% of it.
24 hrs..check....I'll clear the caches too. But the ads they put together....
Did a setting change recently? I ask because ads are now showing up in the middle of quote boxes. Example
