Former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney has a new job.

Interesting. I did not realize you had a home-brew (100% American) anti-virus.

But yeah, celebrity shucking of AV/AM is right up there with Gore Vidal wines and Orson Welles.

Welles called his stints as a pitchman "the most innocent form of whoring I know."

It's crap. It's also one of the most expensive options with the cheapest being $50.00 per year.

THE BOTTOM LINE

PC Matic Home blocks execution of any program that isn't on its whitelist, which theoretically includes all types of malware. Be warned; you'll have to put up with it blocking valid programs from time to time.
Full disclosure: I no longer run any anti-virus software. Windows Defender has become strong enough to do everything on its own without outside help. I used to run ESET and it was very good, but I let it go the way of the dodo about 3 years ago.

I've never had an issue.

Yeah. I'll be curious when the mcafee ends what defender feels like on a new gen cpu. It was why I always ran with my lifetime Malwarebytes. The MB will be good for the older laptop.

It's not worth it. Seriously. It's a lot like Nortan Antivirus - it's so bloated with things you needed back in the early 2000's that it's drag on your system makes it a burden more than a help.

Especially given that Windows Defender and system security is running anyway.
