Deserved

Met a lawyer at a family reunion (2016) who deals in old DNA cases. The identification technology had advanced so much by then that people who had been incarcerated in the early days of DNA, were now able to prove their innocence with advanced technology. In particular she worked with aboriginals who only in later tests could prove it was a related-person and not them.

To be fair, I had never heard of these people before the investigation broke about two years ago.

Typically, as rich white people, they played the victims and assumed they'd get away with tax evasion among other things.

Well, they didn't. The federal judge in Georgia put the hammer down. He got 12 years, she got 7.

Todd Chrisley, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison with three years of supervised release, has been assigned to serve time at FPC Pensacola, a minimum-security facility in Pensacola, Florida.
His wife Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years in prison and three years of supervised release. She is assigned to FCI Marianna SCP, a “medium security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp” in Marianna, Florida, according to the prison’s website.
If they had been black, they'd be in Atlanta Federal Prison right now being somebody's bitch in the shower.
