COVID Thread

All the more reason to put a spike in the heart of this damn thing quickly. The longer, and greater it flourishes the more it mutates, and each new strain, goes it’s own way to do the same.

Think of ancestry.com. It’s like that.

If they don’t start somewhere, I don’t know. You know, I’m no expert, but is this worse than the Spanish flu ?

Where people smarter back then, more careful ?

Are we more populated now? And more stupid, and refuse to take measures, in the name of capitalism. And as far as how it got started, maybe it was detected in China , who has not been forth coming, about how it got started, responsible and who else was working with them ?

I mean why did we have to rely on China for the 🧬 DNA, info to be given to the vaccines makers ? And, to the rest of the world? Doesn’t anyone find that odd ?

So I'm finally crawling out from under a pile of shit a mile high. Here's where I am - Dad died of a stroke. Thought it was Covid but the coroner said no dice. Mom went off the deep end and is now in a home. It's shitty, I know, but what the hell can you do with a 72 year old woman that's lost her mind pretty much?

My younger brother has taken over the farm which is good. He never left home and knows what the hell he's doing and I don't. I'm helping out with the financial end of things and still working remotely which for me is probably how I should have been working all along. (insurance adjuster)

It's been a hell of a ball of wax guys. I shit you not.

Well, again, sorry about your dad. I'm assuming based on your mother's age he was in his 70's as well. I hope I make it that far, pal.

Good that you support your younger brother. My older brother is a long conversation, but suffice to say he never supported anybody but himself.

I never figured you for an insurance guy; I'm not trying to be nosy or anything, but with the farm mentions and low population I'm just dying to know where you live. I always wondered, but now it's killing me.

Again, good to see you again. It does sound like you've had and still have your hands full, but at the same time it sounds as though you and your brother have things well in hand.

Well done. Not sure I would have been up for all of that.

It's all good man. It was a real shit storm at the time but over the last couple months it's worked out OK. Dad was 77. He really had no business working as hard as he worked but what are you going to do? The guy could still whip my ass so it's not like I'm going to make him do anything.

My younger brother is the bomb. He bought into all the farm shit as a kid. I never did. I went to college, got a degree and went into insurance. Turns out it all worked out well. As for where I live I'll give you a hint. I work for one of the oldest insurance companies in the nation. Mutual of Omaha. And I went to school at the University of Nebraska. That should narrow it down a bit for you. ;)

Sorry for your loss in both counts. My father is 80, and has had multiple surgeries for cancer, heart, etc Mom takes care of him, she’s 79. They have been married over 60 years.

I check in on them every couple of weeks. Call, email, etc and visit. Can’t say the same for my 3 younger siblings. They do none of that. Their the type that will only show up to collect what’s owed to them when a funeral happens. Sad, but true.

I know it’s going to happen one day, I’ll have to be there to stop my mother from being preyed upon, or the reversal depending on who passes first.

The other 3 would love nothing more than to put them both away in a home, and walk away, and have paperwork with everything signed over.
