Want to know why red states stay red? Read this last night and it makes perfect sense. People with brains and a decent education are hauling ass. I'm sure this isn't just a Nebraska problem. I'll bet the Dakotas, Oklahoma and others have the same thing.

I agree sight unseen with the lady talking about discrimination and cannabis. That same thing is causing a lot of change in a lot of states.

Nebraska is the producer of it's own demise. When you can't/won't haul your collective butts into the next century the younger people will move elsewhere.

It's the old farts and the "that's the way we've always done it" attitude that kills this place. Most of them still don't realize we're in the 21st fucking century. They still think it's the turn of the 20th.

Like Florida. It's tourism. That's all we've got. No industry to speak at all. Oranges and the beach and DisneyWorld. We have nothing but old fucks with old money running the same shit restaurant and hotel the same way their grandpa did.

Charleston, SC is the same way. When I lived down there that was their favorite saying: That's the way we've always done it.

They lost the naval base because of it.

I've been to Charleston. Spawar was located there. Went for briefings.

Furthest east I've ever been is St. Louis. Never had any desire to go even that far.
